Which software to be used to create logos ???

If you are planning to start your business than the first thing that you will start with is creating a logo right ? Logo is the graphic representation of your company's image before your consumers, an outstanding logo means more trust worthy the brand, yes, its no rocket science.  None will go and buy a product from a company that has amateurish logo as its graphical representative, so how do you get a logo design done ? simple answer hire a designer or cheap logo design agency and get your logo done BUT the quality of the logo depends in what format its created.

Some of the so called logo designers on the internet simply use template based logo design softwares like aaalogo or aurora logostudio (don't remember the exact name, sorry )   to create logos, the client likes it and they get a sale from it, perhaps charge $100. the client is all happy with his logo until he wants to get his business card printed with it and then comes the surprise......he doesn't have vector files that are necessary to be used on the business card if you use the png's and jpgs on the business card the image quality of your logo on the business card will go down, it would appear pixelated, you may somehow use that logo on business card but what about using it on a gaint banner perhaps a 20 feet banner your logo will be worn out if you use a jpg and stretch it.

Always create logos or tell your designers to create logos in softwares that can output vector file at the end of the project, with vector file you can increase or decrease the image without loss in quality, for me the best software is Adobe Illustrator, you can use Inkscape if you want something free.

Well its really hard to imagine how graphic designers in the pre-computer era would have been doing all the design work, things haven't changed much even now, designers do create a copy of designs on the paper even today, the only difference is we don't assume that as final product, what we create on paper now a days is quite fondly called as "rough sketch" or a mockup of the original idea, the final product are very well designed and crafted on computers after taking references from the rought sketch that is there on the paper.

With the advent of computers things have both become easy as well  for designers, easy in the sense that computers are the best machines to develop a graphic design. How ever experts still feel that creating a rough draft on paper is ideal before you start with a task of graphic design, another thing that adds zing is that graphic designing has become affordable and quite more High Quality based than it ever was.

A prime example that I can provide is about designing and composition of a book that was in a local language here in India. It was slow and costly job to get a book designed and composed, with the advent of computers its just a matter of days earlier it used to take months of time to compose a 60 page book.

Logo Design cost and choosing the Right Design company

If you are in need of a logo design for your business you might have felt the need to know about the price charged for a logo design and compare prices of a few service providers to choose the best option. let us decode how much will a effective professional custom logo design cost.

First thing to know is that on the internet there several companies that offer logo design services at throw away prices and there are several that are over priced, charge amounts higher than they should. So the question arises what should one do if they have to acquire services of a logo design company to design a dream logo for them. there is a general misconception among people that companies that offer cheap logo  design services provide with sub-standard services, let me make this pretty clear not all those who offer low cost logo design services are bad, the easiest way to check that is to look through their portfolio and If they offer  100% money back guarantee then its no harm in trying them for a job.

Portfolio of a logo design company generally provides you with an idea about how professional  they are, whether their work will live up to your expectations of creating a logo for your business, you can go through their portfolio and see how much creativity and originality they have in their work. So which every service provider you choose be sure to check their previous work,  next thing check their client testimonials and other things to look is how many revisions they offer and what file formats they offer at the end of the project. Whether they offer file formats suitable Print and Web Media

Here are the points Once again :

Have  a Look at the portfolio

Check if the design companies  offer Money Back guarantee or not

Check if they provide revisions or not , if yes then how many.

Last but not the least check testimonials of their previous clients

Logo Designer and The Sense of Design

Not everybody can be a designer and not every designer can be a good designer, there is a lot of difference between a good designer and a designer, In my view a designer who think and act according to what he thinks about the design can be a good designer.

A good Logo Design Has Rich Color and Great font to go with it

Logo design generally provides the impression of a simple graphic done without too much fuss, may be sometimes some logos are just text based without any graphic accommodating them, so it does look quite an easy task to design a logo, just open any graphic design creator software preferably something that creates vector graphics and start playing with the text as you type it. Create some uneven weird shapes (lunatic designers call it abstract shapes, don’t listen to them) doesn’t this sound easy. It does sound easy, but believe me logo designing is not that an easy job.

To understand logo designing you need to understand what logo designing actually is ! in a nutshell a logo design can be described as a graphical representative of your business, so it does that kind thing but your logo should represent the qualities of a good business too. it should convey certain things like trust to the target audience, if a logo fails to convey such things then its not worth to have such a logo or may be you shouldn’t call it a logo.

So the question here arises what should a good logo design be? And how it should be? There are many factors that play a major role in defining a logo (do you still think that logo designing is an easy job?). First thing what do you want to see in your logo, what is your vision for it, It matters most. The kind of business or services that you provide, its something that doesn’t need a genius to figure out that a logo should reflect the kind of business the owner of the logo has, you can’t put a house roof on top of a tech firm logo (believe me there are some people who would do this amazing mistake), third thing is creativity in the logo design for which the designer of the logo has to bear the maximum responsibility, there are other things like current industry standards which is also an important factor because no one will be interested in an outdated logo. Also last but not the least it should have a sense of artistic touch to it.

Different Types of Logos

Logo Design is an important of any business, without it a business is almost unrecognizable..

....OK this is not an article this is a blog post I guess so I don't need to be formal here, I get bored to write articles on the article submissions sites experts say they are good to gain quality backlinks for your site but they surely make you look formal and official, here as a blogger you have the freedom to break free and write in the best creative way you want.

Now on to our main topic logo designing - I can broadly classify types of logo design into 4

1- Wordmark
2- Lettermark
3-Emblem
4-Combination Mark

There may be other style of logo designs ( but this is what i know, honestly I don't know about other stuff)

The best Example of a Wordmark logo is Facebook logo

The best Example of  a Lettermark Logo is IBM logo

Emblem logo examples can be retro badges or logos like HarleyDavidson logo

Will provide more info on them in the next post.

Thanks All.
